Poster Project

In this assignment, you will design a marketing poster for a game, movie or show of your choice.

Deliverables

There are several separate deliverables for this Project, because I want to make sure you don’t wait to start it until the night before it’s due!

Mood Board: Due by 2pm on Tuesday, Febuary 18th

The first deliverable is for you to build a mood board that fully captures the tone and the aesthetics of the IP you chose. You will use the mood board as a visual reference and guide while designing the front and back of the box. Make sure you’ve done your research of the chosen IP so that your end product fits with the esablished look and feel of the IP.

First Draft of Poster: Due by 2pm on Tuesday, Febuary 25th

Using your mood moard create an initial design of your Poster. The goal of this Poster is to get the viewer interested in wanting the product shown. Make sure to include the title and any information relevate about uptaining the product(release date, platforms for games, special offers). Beyond that you are free to do whatever you think is best for your Poster.

Critique of Poster: Due by 11:30pm on Thursday, Febuary 27th

You will work with your note taking groups to critique each other’s Poster desgins. Each of you will have to take notes on feedbcak you receive during the critique that you will turn in as part of this assignment. You will also need to write up a description of what you will be based off the feedback you received.

Revised Draft of Poster: Due by 11:30pm on Monday, March 16th

You will make modifications of your original Poster design based on the feedback you received from the critique exercise.

Alignment Consistency Maintain consistency across shape, color, texture, imagery, arrangement, etc. Deviate from it only to support your goal. 10
Reduction Uses the smallest effective difference mark a difference, or establish visual hierarchy. Has no unnessacary elements. 10
Stress Establishes a clear visual hierarchy and view path. 10
Design Description A description of the process you used to create your cover, make sure to address the design goals 10
Critique Notes An explanation of how the critique process shaped your revisions 10
